Hi Jeremy Foshee,

Happy new year!
Thanks for your reply.

I have tried the new version of Ubuntu. But it turned out that it cannot
be installed at all. The installation is stuck in the 'select and
install software' step, and cannot finish this step. I continued the
installation, and rebooted. It cannot be used.

The main problem I am facing is that I cannot create ad hoc wireless
access point from my laptop with password (WEP)/ without password. It is
always trying to connect but finally fail to do it.

Best regards,
Lei

Subject: [Bug 699677] Re: wireless card RT3090 does not support and cannot
access wireless point with password

Hi lei.fang,

Please be sure to confirm this issue exists with the latest development
release of Ubuntu. ISO CD images are available from
http://cdimage.ubuntu.com/daily/current/ . If the issue remains, please
run the following command from a Terminal
(Applications->Accessories->Terminal). It will automatically gather and
attach updated debug information to this report.

apport-collect -p linux 699677

Also, if you could test the latest upstream kernel available that would
be great. It will allow additional upstream developers to examine the
issue. Refer to https://wiki.ubuntu.com/KernelMainlineBuilds . Once
you've tested the upstream kernel, please remove the 'needs-upstream-
testing' tag. This can be done by clicking on the yellow pencil icon
next to the tag located at the bottom of the bug description and
deleting the 'needs-upstream-testing' text. Please let us know your
results.

Thanks in advance.

inappropriately; please just reply to this message indicating so.]

Title:
wireless card RT3090 does not support and cannot access wireless point
  with password

Status in “linux” package in Ubuntu:
  Incomplete

Bug description:
  My ubuntu version is 10.04LTS.
   p
  Wireless card type: RAlink RT3090

First of all, the card is not supported by the system. I used the
  driver from RALink cooperation.

Moreover, though it works, however, it cannot access wireless points
with any password. It cannot create ad hoc wireless access point with
  password neither.
