Could you please describe how I would install a mainline kernel when my
root filesystem is inaccessible due to this bug?  In order to re-install
10.10 and then install a mainline kernel I would have to delete this
partition to make space so I couldn't test the issue.  As it stand I
have found no tools that will touch the partition (or more specifically
the filesystem).  Is there a way to try the mainline kernel from a boot
disk of some sort?
