"Scan as photo" function does not work in Simple Scan: the head moves a bit towards the far end of the scanner bed, then stops until I cancel the scan. The exact length at which the head stops, correlates with the chosen resolution: 75 dpi - ~20 cm 150 dpi - ~5 cm 300 dpi - ~1 cm 600 and 1200 dpi - some millimeters "Scan as text" function works adequately with the above resolutions.
