Transmission doesn't know how much you downloaded before you imported
the torrent from Windows.

What's probably happening is transmission redownloaded a fragment of
another file to complete a checksum piece that overlaps with the file
you wanted, and that small number is being used as the denominator in
the ratio calculation.

So the report isn't wrong... it is, however, confusing :)

I'm not sure what the Right Thing to do would be in this case.
Transmission can't assume anything about what went on before the torrent
was imported, so none of the options I can think of sound very good.
Reporting on the data we've got is probably the "least bad" option.
