Public bug reported:
Binary package hint: acpi
I have been trying to solve this problem for a couple of months (since I
installed 10.10). Problem did not exist with 9.04 (my last stable system).
I provided a couple of pastebins about the problem (551644 and 502454). These
fully identify the characteristics of my laptop.
I have followed a recommendation to install `sudo apt-get install i8kutils
gkrellm gkrellm-i8k` and 'fancontrol'. I am unable to find gkrellm-i8k in
synaptic and I am unable to compile the source as it is only provided for
debbian. No difference with 'fancontrol'.
The fans are continually running at high speed, while temperature is less that
the limit of 50C.
Thanks
