Public bug reported:

Binary package hint: alsa-base

nVidia Corporation MCP79 High Definition Audio does not work from ubuntu 
install unless alsa-base was changed with sudo powers to:
http://pastebin.ubuntu.com/554971/

then followed by:
sudo update-initramfs -k all -u
and a reboot

Additional Info:
- Was tested on MSI AE2020
- Was running an normal version of Ubuntu 10.10 Desktop
- [This is not a security venerability, but should be fixed ASAP as it could 
easily drive people away from ubuntu who have this sound card, as sound is the 
most Important part of a PC]
- Alsa-base.conf version: 1.0.23+dfsg-1ubuntu4
- Kernal Version: 2.6.35-24-generic-pae
