AFAIR, there is already some of this implemented, and clearly available
through ModemManager. I'm just not certain anymore whether or under
which conditions this information gets logged.
Still, it seems like it would be possible to ask NM or MM about the
bandwidth usage directly, and expose this *somewhere* in UI, directly in
nm-applet or elsewhere.
Can you please check if as a workaround you can already see this
information logged to /var/log/syslog on a regular basis (I think it's
every couple of seconds)? Thanks in advance.
