My opinion is that krdc does a much better job as a vnc client than vinagre. It allows you to connect to a vino server using compression (High Medium Low Bandwidth setting option is presented when connecting). It also allows you to use your local mouse cursor (assisted by an on- screen dot) which makes the task of remote desktop much easier.
