I emailed to ask about this yesterday and got the following reply: We plan to release an Ubuntu support package. It will include a proprietary sensor daemon with sample for fprint. We do not have plans for Fedora, but the same package might work (no guarantee).
We are already working with major notebook manufacturers, and are not ready to accept individual developers or beta testers at this time.
