 I am seeing a problem here this bug report is no longer valid as the package 
already exists in ubuntu so it needs to be closed.
After doing some research into your issue i see that the kxstudio team has the 
updated packages just scroll to last page and you will see qmidiarp listed so 
you can try it out.

Also what you can do is too file a bug report against the package itself
and tag it upgrade that you want it updated to the latest version from
the website.
