** Description changed:

- LiveCD snapshot from 12th Jan (booting from a USB pen drive) crashes during 
with boot (about the time it would the splash screen). Disabling modeset (with 
"nomodeset") parameter works.
+ LiveCD snapshot from January 12th (up to Jan 18th) crashes during with boot 
(apparently at the time X starts). Disabling modeset (with "nomodeset" kernel 
boot parameter) works.
  Alpha1 didn`t have the problem.
+ FWIW I'm booting from a USB pen drive.
