I'm not sure - My report was regarding Ubuntu 9.04, which I've replaced with 10.04 or 10.10 on my computers. For example on this 10.04 LTS system, the current Pidgin is 2.6.6, with the MusicTracker plugin v. 0.4.19 - this seems to work with RhythmBox. Anyhow this report is pretty old now.
