Also, the window-border/controls being in the panel makes it more work to un-maximize the maximized window in the background, one can no longer simply double-click on the window border (when the pointer is on the far right of the screen) to acomplish this, if my pointer is on the far right of a larger screen, I have to move the the far left of the screen to do anything with the window, taking more time and mouse movement (for me, often having to lift and re-position my pointer to get across the screen to be able to do anything with the window if it is maximized).
