Aron, thank you for your analysis and debdiffs. The importance was set as high as it was because of the nature of the bug and that it could have been an indication of tampering. I am glad that it was just a poorly written makefile. Reducing priority to 'high' since this bug must be fixed before the package binaries can be accepted into the archive. In the future I would encourage you to use lintian and other tools to make sure the source and binaries are correct. Thanks again.
