Public bug reported:

Running "sensors-detect" on my Core i7 system it says:

[...]
Intel Core family thermal sensor...                         No
[...]

This seems to be fixed in the latest lm-sensors SVN (perhaps also in the 3.2.0 
release - but I don't know that), as this mail suggests:
