Public bug reported:

Binary package hint: irb

This is Kubuntu (dapper).

Calling 'help' in irb results in a LoadError. Calling it the second time
results again in an error, but this time a NameError...

I will simply paste the shell:

irb(main):001:0> help
LoadError: no such file to load -- rdoc/ri/ri_driver
        from /usr/lib/ruby/1.8/irb/cmd/help.rb:12:in `require'
        from /usr/lib/ruby/1.8/irb/cmd/help.rb:12
        from (eval):3:in `help'
        from (irb):1:in `irb_binding'
        from /usr/lib/ruby/1.8/irb/workspace.rb:52:in `irb_binding'
        from /usr/lib/ruby/1.8/irb/workspace.rb:52
Maybe IRB bug!!
irb(main):002:0> help
NameError: uninitialized constant IRB::ExtendCommandBundle::ExtendCommand
        from (eval):3:in `irb_help'
        from (eval):9:in `help'
        from (irb):2
