To test that under Natty, you need to use the -k option (--no-kiosk-
warning).

Using:

UBUNTU_MENUPROXY= vmplayer -k

one can see the menus that are absent of the global menubar.

It sounds like yet another example of dynamic menus causing appmenu-gtk
some trouble when trying to convert items on the fly into dbusmenu
properties.
