It's not clear why this ended up installed to the USB stick in the first place; it was probably an installer bug which has since been fixed (e.g. bug 630529 or http://bugs.debian.org/568529). However, to deal with it on your system now, run 'sudo dpkg-reconfigure grub-pc' and select the correct installation device.
