Checking the option in Keyboard Preferences -> Layout Options -> Miscellaneous
compatibility options -> 'Shift with numpad keys works as in MS Windows' causes
the 100% CPU usage.
Htop utility shows that gnome-settings-daemon and
/usr/lib/control-center/gnome-settings-daemon are loading the CPU exteremely

** Affects: xserver-xgl (Ubuntu)
     Importance: Undecided
         Status: Unconfirmed
