Thanks for reporting this bug and any supporting documentation. Since
this bug has enough information provided for a developer to begin work,
I'm going to mark it as confirmed and let them handle it from here.
I am able to reproduce this issue by inserting a desktop cd, boot to the live
desktop, and run
sudo apt-get update
By the time this command has completed, there is an apport crash report
for the notifications crashing.
