I have the saqme problem on a 64-bit machine. I use GNOME asw the
desktop and have simply installed digikam by "apt-get install digikam".
In the form of now it is unusable and it can perhaps simply be fixed by
reverting/removing the cache mechanism change.
I appreciate if this gets fixed for the Feisty release.
