Perhaps I can re-explain the bug if you don't understand it, Chris? It's
quite simple. When you hit Alt and release it in OpenOffice.org or
LibreOffice, the File menu is activated (same as if you hit Alt-F). This
doesn't match every other GNOME or KDE application, and (importantly)
prevents StickyKeys from working properly.

StickyKeys allows people who can't chord on the keyboard (say, people
with babies on their knees, or with one arm, or with stiffness in their
fingers) to still be able to do things like Ctrl-C or Alt-Tab, because
they can hit the Alt key, and it's "sticky" until the next key is hit -
so they first hit Alt, then hit Tab, and they switch applications.

Vish: The bug has already been reported upstream in OOo:

enough?
