I've taken the proposed patch from http://marc.info/?l=qemu-
devel&m=127436114712437 and applied it to lucid's qemu-kvm.  The
resulting source is at https://code.launchpad.net/~serge-
hallyn/ubuntu/lucid/qemu-kvm/virtio-corrupt and the package is building
in ppa:serge-hallyn/virt.

Could you please test the package in ppa:serge-hallyn/virt and let us
know if it fixes your problem?  It may not be sufficient since we're not
starting from 0.12.4, but hopefully this patch suffices.
