Public bug reported: on ubunto 10.10 32bit (recommended on the download page) modprobe: FATAL: Could not load /lib/modules/2.6.32-22-generic/modules.dep:No such file or directory
Microsoft XP Home edition v2002, sp3 AMD Athlon 64xDual COre Processor 4400+2.21Ghz, 2.00GB of RAM. Physical Address Extension I'm sure it's an Asus motherboard, with Nvidia Graphics card, (I bought a new motherboard and CPU as the old one was screwed.) The screen display's Fujitsu Siemens on startup from completely off, dunno if it's to do with an older BIOS from the original CPU and so on. I have no IT or Ubuntu/Linux training at all and am totally new trying to get out of using windows and definitely can't afford mac at the mo! I followed a thread on the 10.10 error above and just couldn't find anything I could understand at all, I'm using iso copied to CD. Also tried 10.4.01 but that just won't do anything when I try to boot doesn't display error note or anything. On both of them a crimson ubuntu type screen comes on for a few seconds at the beginning with a sort of a keyboard icon and another icon at the bottom, before it goes to either the error screen or the pure black with cursor screen respectively. Sorry if this is too long or was handled elsewhere. Cheers, Sean PS some guys report the 10.10 bug I mention ** Affects: ubuntu Importance: Undecided Status: New -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/709585 Title: Can't get 10.10 or 10.4.10 to go for me. -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs
