Only to make sure this is the bug I experience: The sudo apt-get update doesn't crash the network manager. A sudo apt-get dist-upgrade does, though.
Still investigating if this is triggered by any post-installation script that is commonly run. The last time nm-applet crashed on my computer the post-installation scripts did output the following messages: Processing triggers for ureadahead ... ureadahead will be reprofiled on next reboot Processing triggers for menu ... Processing triggers for man-db ... Processing triggers for python-support ... Processing triggers for libc-bin ... ldconfig deferred processing now taking place -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/709156 Title: nm-applet often crashes on natty when apt-get updating -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs
