Public bug reported:

Binary package hint: hal-info

Trying to install Ubuntu 10.10 on an older P4 system that exceeds all
recomended requirements. I have operated Ubuntu 9.10 on this machine
previously. I am performing a fresh install using only one partition.
My Keyboard repeat gets stuck in the "Who are You?" information screen.
When I start to input my info the keyboard repeat gets sutck and I can
not finish inputing the necessary data. Someitmes it gets stuck on the
name box, othertimes I can get to password but never get everything
inputed in time to click the forward button. I have tried installing
10.10 about 6 times with 3 different keyboards and 3 different
mice(although the mouse always works ok) I tried changing settings in
my BIOS, also tried to burn the iso onto a second disc in case it was a
bad burn but the exact same thing happens each time in the same screen.
I have seen other reports of keyboard repeat being stuck however no
other reports seem to be during the install process. Since I can't even
install this version I will have to revert toa n older release either
10.04 or 9.10

** Affects: hal-info (Ubuntu)
     Importance: Undecided
         Status: New
