Hi David,

Thanks for your report! I confess: I'm guilty. ;-) But it's not quite
as long as you claimed, so I changed the title and description of this
bug report.

I felt that the "for dates etc." clarification was motivated. OTOH,
since there is an explanation right below the tab label, I agree that
it's probably better to drop that part. Then we have "Regional Settings"
vs. "Format preferences". I'd prefer to keep the word "format", to
clearly distinguish that tab from "language", which is also a regional
aspect. The overall label, covering both tabs, is "Language & Format".

Would "Format Settings" or "Format Preferences" be ok with you? If so,
which one do you prefer?

P.S. Any comments on the shortened language list?

** Summary changed:

- Use shorter and more concise text for the "Format for preferences for dates
etc" tab label
+ Use shorter and more concise text for the "Format preferences for dates etc"
tab label

** Description changed:

  Binary package hint: language-selector

Recent modifications in the language-selector UI included changing the
- "Text" tab label to "Format for preferences for dates etc".
+ "Text" tab label to "Format preferences for dates etc".

Apart from not being entirely grammatically correct (missing commas),
the current description is too long and a bit vague, and does not follow
  the GNOME Human Interface Guidelines:

  http://library.gnome.org/devel/hig-book/stable/language-labels.html.en

I'd suggest using something along the lines of "Regional Settings",
which other operating systems or alternative desktops (KDE) already use.

** Changed in: language-selector (Ubuntu)
       Status: New => In Progress

** Changed in: language-selector (Ubuntu)
Assignee: (unassigned) => Gunnar Hjalmarsson (gunnarhj)
