Sorry but you can't install proprietary graphics drivers on a live
system as that would involve updating the initramfs and rebooting, which
you can't do unless you install the system.
My suggestion is to install Ubuntu on a usb device (such as a usb hard
disk or a usb key that is big enough) and then install the driver there.
This way you should be able to use the Nvidia driver from the live
system.
