NOTE: this bug can be triggered even without opening software from the Applications Menu. Just using the mouse to highlight (without clicking) Ubuntu Software Center will trigger it.
1.) Immediately after login, type "Alt + F1, S" and one will navigate to System Menu. 2.) Using the mouse, click Applications and move the mouse cursor over Ubuntu Software Center so that it is highlighted. 3.) Now move the mouse cursor away and click on the desktop to close the Applications Menu. 4.)
