This is because the elementary and faenza themes do not ship the
additional icons required by nm-applet:

nm-device-wired-secure, nm-signal-00-secure, nm-signal-25-secure, nm-
signal-50-secure, nm-signal-75-secure, nm-signal-100-secure, and the
same for gsm signal levels: gsm-3g-none-secure, gsm-3g-low-secure, gsm-
3g-medium-secure, gsm-3g-high-secure, gsm-3g-full-secure (though any of
the icons could be symlink to others)
