Public bug reported:

Fresh Ubuntu 10.10 install

1. Network on WiFi does not support WPA2 when installing Ubuntu 10.10,
DHCP fails over wifi, reverted to direct twisted pair for install. NM
applet is OK after install though.

2. Fan control kernel module loaded, but not activated, dmesg after
first boot:

[ 13.491404] acerhdf: Fan control off, to enable do:
[ 13.491409] acerhdf: echo -n "enabled" >
/sys/class/thermal/thermal_zone0/mode

which I did manually:

echo -n "enabled" > /sys/class/thermal/thermal_zone0/mod

so now:

[ 607.464519] acerhdf: kernel mode fan control ON

as expected. (could acer-wmi work too?) This is not a permanent solution
though.

3. The machine has a black screen after returning from suspend/hibernate
(for example by opening the lid after having closed it down after the
first boot).

thanks!
