Public bug reported:

Binary package hint: ubiquity

today i downloaded the ubuntu 10.10 through bittorrent, burn it to a dvd at 4x
i can run ubuntu off the cd just fine, but i am unable to install it so that it
can run without the dvd in the ODD

when installing it works for a while after i enter all the necessary
information (eg. what time it is, name of the computer, my username and
password etc..)

the screen i can see tells me that the installer has crashed but it
doesnt mention a specific error code

this is not a "one off thing" this is my third attempt at installing
this disk and my ninth attempt overall

i also could not install ubuntu 10.10 amd64 for the same reason (but i
think that had to do with my hardware not being as 64bit compatible as
it claimed) and yes i am using an amd processor and socket

attached i have the two files requested in the dialog box im looking at

which are
syslog
partman
and a screenshot detailing my hardware

which were found at
/var/log/
and using the sys info program in the ubuntu software center

** Affects: ubiquity (Ubuntu)
     Importance: Undecided
         Status: New
