Public bug reported:
Binary package hint: network-manager
network-manager was updated during the feisty beta cycle to understand
about statically configured IP addresses. This fix looks like it was
reverted in the latest network-manager update.
This now means that to switch between roaming and static ip mode you
need to uninstall or reinstall the network-manager package, or put up
with an icon in your task bar informing you that your computer is
disconnected (when it isn't).
** Affects: network-manager (Ubuntu)
