I have this same problem, this seems to be linked with the kernel that comes
with Maverick, 2.6.35-25. This first happened after I had finished updating
from 10.4 to 10.10 and restarted. I then did a clean install and there is the
same story. To get it working I have to change boot to acpi=off. Running with
acpi=off then there is no battery indicator and that is a big draw back.
Is there some fix coming for this or do I have to go back to 10.4?

ps. this is the third issue that is taking very long time to fix for Lenova
U350 type,
1. headphone not disableing speakers (fixed in 10.10 not in 10.4)
2. brightness keys not working
3. not booting without acpi off
