I have this same issue using an external dock attached to my USB3 ports.
The dock uses a JMicron controller and it works fine when attached as
USB2 but connects and then gets errors as USB3. The errors are the same
as above. Interestingly, it worked fine under a customer kernel under
Gentoo but will not work under the Ubuntu generic kernel.
