Public bug reported:
Binary package hint: nvidia-glx
Laptop Dell Precision M90, resolution 1920x1200.
Monitor Dell 20" 2005FPW, resolution 1680x1050.
Nvidia Quadro FX 2500M
Using Twinview.
Upgrading nvidia-glx from 1.0.9755+2.6.20.4-14.15 to 1:1.0.9631+2.6.20.5-14.18
made the 2005FPW go black. It doesn't initialize.
This is similiar to how 9269 behaved.
Some xorg.conf voodoo helped that time, but this time I can't find any
combination of the following options that will make it work:
Option "SecondMonitorHorizSync" "UseEdidFreqs"
Option "SecondMonitorVertRefresh" "UseEdidFreqs"
Option "UseEDID" "false"
Option "MetaModes" "1920x1200, 1680x1050"
Option "ConnectedMonitor" "DFP-0, DFP-1"
Option "ExactModeTimingsDVI" "1"
Option "ModeValidation" "DFP-0: NoMaxPClkCheck"
Anyway, digging around I found nvidia-glx-new with 9755. Installing that is a
possible fix of course (once you know it does exist; the changelog talks about
a path of least surprise; well, it wasn't for me).
9631 doesn't seem to be a good version though, but maybe it's the least bad and
there are bigger problems with other versions.
** Affects: linux-restricted-modules-2.6.20 (Ubuntu)
Importance: Undecided
Status: Unconfirmed
