You are right according to the Human Interface Guidelines
(http://library.gnome.org/devel/hig-book/nightly/hig-book.html#windows-
explicit-apply) "Cancel" should actually cancel the driver change. Only
after pressing "Apply" or "OK" the change should be applied.
