Additional info: I must have had the ubuntu9 version of ia32 installed for at least 3 weeks (based on the date of the filename compared to my last clean install of maverick-64), and it's been working fine until today. I can't find the ubuntu4 version available for download anywhere, so I tried a couple of earlier versions, ia32-libs_2.7ubuntu25 and 26, and those didn't work. I start Skype, and as soon as the login window appears, X crashes and I get dumped back to a GDM login.
