I have applied the patch, but I am seeing a very strange problem. I am using vnc sessions with gdm / xdmcp enabled to allow persistent sessions in 10.10 It seems that gdm-simple-greeter is now hanging/crashing, depending on what is done.
a) If I have a vnc session with display resolution set to 640x480, simple-greeter works and I can login. However, if I click on my user name to login and then click cancel, simple-greeter segfaults. (the segfault can be seen in /var/log/gdm/xxxxx-greeter.log) b) If I have a vnc session with a display resolution of, say, 800x600, simple-greeter hangs, and I cannot login at all. In fact, the change in behavior it seems to be related to the x-dimension of the vnc session requested - if I set it to be 640x800, that will work just as in case a) above Either way, both a and b either crash or hang. I don't know if this issue is related to the patch or not as I applied the patch before setting up the vnc system. I applied the i386 patch listed above to a 10.10 32bit install. (i686 from uname -a) I would be interested to see if anyone else is seeing an issue with gdm- simple-greeter, or if there is an alternative to it that I could try.. -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/408417 Title: XDMCP server not working in Ubuntu 10.10 (Maverick) -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list [email protected] https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs
