I don't know why it's immediately dissassociating after successfully
connecting:

Please make sure you have properly configured your wireless network; you
can verify the settings in Edit Connections... , under the Wireless tab.
Click modify on your connection item, then ensure you don't have values
entered in the BSSID field for your connection unless you really need
it.
