Public bug reported:
Binary package hint: cpufreqd
Hi, I use Kubuntu 10.10, I realised I had NO chance to change CPU frequency via
powerdevil, which is problem in KDE. OK.
But, cpufreqd policy really doesn't know how to set-up my system, on battery
power, with powersave it does run on 1.33GHz, which is really high value (my
CPU is i7, 4 cores, maximum frequency 1.6GHz and lowest 933MHz) and have no
chance to set it up lower.
cpufreq-info shows me this:
současná taktika: frekvence by měla být mezi 1.33GHz a 1.33GHz.
: frequency should be between 1.33GHz and 1.33GHz.
I think:
a) the margin should be more, like from 1.07GHz to 1.60GHz.
b) If I set-up powersave (by some konsole magic), it still shows me from
1.33GHz to 1.33GHz. (I want 933MHz to 933MHz)
c) I tried to set up these values manually by "sudo cpufreq-set -g ondemand -c
0 1 -d 933MHz -u 1.60GHz" but if it does something (which is not a rule), it
changes it until restart and for all profiles (also for powersave etc.)
So please HOW can I set-up stable frequency (like 933MHz which is supported by
my CPU)
If this couldn't be done, can I set up margins at ondemand, powersave etc. at
least? How? I'll welcome programs and terminal commands too, everything will be
helpful for me.
Thank you very much.
