** Description changed: I am using ubuntu 10.04 lucid, and recently noticed that cpufreq stops - work on my laptop. I tried several kernel versions and found that this - problem first appears in 2.6.32-25, and still exists in 2.6.32-29 + work on my laptop Dell 1420. I tried several kernel versions and found + that this problem first appears in 2.6.32-25, and still exists in + 2.6.32-29 With both cpufreq-selector and cpufreq-set, I can change the governor, but changing frequency is not work. cpufreq-info gives the following result ------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- cpufrequtils 006: cpufreq-info (C) Dominik Brodowski 2004-2009 Report errors and bugs to [email protected], please. analyzing CPU 0: driver: acpi-cpufreq CPUs which run at the same hardware frequency: 0 1 CPUs which need to have their frequency coordinated by software: 0 maximum transition latency: 10.0 us. hardware limits: 1000 MHz - 2.00 GHz available frequency steps: 2.00 GHz, 1.67 GHz, 1.33 GHz, 1000 MHz available cpufreq governors: conservative, ondemand, userspace, powersave, performance current policy: frequency should be within 1000 MHz and 1000 MHz.
