Public bug reported:
This could be considered possibly a feature request, but it is very
annoying.
The Applications->Add/Remove menu is a very neat feature, but if it is
unable to get a lock on the apt database, it will pop up a dialog to
close and just stop.
This behaviour is safe, but it would be someone more user freindly if
the dialog had buttons to retest, cancel (thus not applying but keeping
the application open) and close app.
Steps to Reproduce:
* Leave some other application open(update window after they were applied
perhaps?)
* Make multiple package selections (I have done this at least twice now)
* click apply
* Dialog will pop up. Only option is to close
* Close the dialog - bang, application closed, you will now have to make your
selections again after closing the other offending application.
