@Pascal Sorry, I run the script on my laptop, but I forgot to remove the client.conf (in /etc/cups/) I used as a quick fix to the problem. Specifying in client.conf the line
ServerName <myprintservername> I am avoiding the local spooling, which seems affected by the problem reported. Now I've run the script with the configuration (client.conf removed) actually experimenting the problem.
