Public bug reported:

Binary package hint: indicator-application

The symbol for the shutdown button in the upper right corner has changed
from the well-known internal on/off symbol (as seen on all remote
controls around the world), and has been replaced by some strange,
blocky icon. On second thought it could be a wall flip switch you can
see in the US, but not in Europe.

See the picture in http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Switch ; the left-lower
switch is described as "US style".

See the included picture of a wall switch in the Netherlands; quite
something else.

So I consider this a bug. This new flip switch symbol is unknown and
thus unclear to a lot of people. See please switch back to the
internation on-off-switch.
