@gojkok: Can you reproduce the crash on your system?

@Barry: It doesn't happen for me either, it does look like a weird
corner case. Apparently the type error comes from trying to copy the
_active_ list with _active[:], but why would this ever fail, given that
the start/end indexes are implicit?
