Another way to reproduce is to change step 3 of the above to
3. Change the size of the "Object Area for Auto Layouts" text box.
When the file is reopened (after save and close), the master slide has
forgotten the change and all new slides will be created with the old
size of the box.
This is very annoying since for any custom layout, you have to modify
the master each time a file is opened if you want to create new slides.
