Well, actually a lot of things strongly depend on dbus, so restarting it
is never a good idea, and will break multiple other parts of your
session, including gdm, init (upstart), etc.
e.g.
Feb 14 10:41:15 selene init: Unable to connect to the system bus: Failed to
connect to socket /var/run/dbus/system_bus_socket: Connection refused
The best I can do here is to redirect you to bug 399676, of which this
bug is not quite a duplicate, but strongly related to the issue at hand.
I'll go ahead and mark this bug Invalid -- the issue is not in NM, but
in DBUS which doesn't handle the restarting as well as it (maybe) could.
