Actually, I'm now very confused about what's going on with bluetooth
under Natty.

When I click on the bluetooth icon (which btw is dimmed), it says:

Bluetooth on <- menu item disabled
Turn off Bluetooth
-----
Preferences

and when I click on Preferences, I get a window that says "Bluetooth is
disabled" and a big button that says "Turn On Bluetooth". Clicking on
this button just hangs the application apparently, and yep, crashes the
wifi.

Without clicking the Evil Button, I get this result:

% rfkill list
0: phy0: Wireless LAN
        Soft blocked: no
        Hard blocked: no
1: hci0: Bluetooth
        Soft blocked: no
        Hard blocked: no
