Hi pietro, could you try Felix Riemann’s suggestion (he’s one of the eog developers, so he knows what he’s talking about ;) ) and try whether disabling the "Date in status bar" plugin (Edit -> Preferences -> Plugins) makes the problem disappear? Thanks.
